Join textiles artist Jess Way for a relaxed and creative workshop where you'll make your own quilted cushion cover!
Date: Saturday 7th November, 10am-4pm
Throughout the day, you'll be introduced to the core processes of quilting- including half-square triangle patchwork, log cabin patchwork, layering with wadding, quilting, and then turning your piece into a beautiful cushion cover. By the end of the session, you’ll have a finished piece that showcases your new skills and a practical reference for future quilting projects at home.
This is a hands-on, machine-sewing workshop. There will be plenty of time to ease into the day and work at your own pace. All fabrics and tools will be provided. However, if you have a stash of favourite fabrics you'd like to include in your design, feel free to bring them along!
We’ll take a 45-minute lunch break midway- either bring your own lunch or pop into town to grab something nearby.
It will be a small, supportive group, so Jess can offer plenty of individual guidance throughout the session. No quilting experience is needed- confident beginners and more experienced sewers are welcome!

What You’ll Learn
How to cut and sew a half-square triangle block and a Log Cabin block- both popular techniques in patchworking and quilting.
How to layer backing, wadding, and quilt top fabric correctly.
How to quilt the layers together securely and neatly.
How to turn your quilt into a cushion cover!
Project
Participants will each make a quilted cushion cover- with many options to customise the colours, design and finish of the piece.
You can choose to bring your own fabric or select from the fabrics provided.

Skill Level: Beginner friendly- we’ll just be using a simple straight and back stitch.

Machine use, needles, and tools all included - plus tea, coffee, and unlimited biscuits!
If you would prefer to bring your own machine, that’s absolutely fine and just let us know.
Please note: although this class is open to ambitious beginners, we will not be covering all the fundamentals of machine sewing. If you’d like to learn how to sew confidently, please book a 1:1 sewing lesson or join a beginners’ group class. Thank you!

Join textiles artist Jess Way for a relaxed workshop creating a weighted eye pillow. You’ll start the session by machine sewing a simple pouch and filling it with your choice of ingredients (organic flax seeds, local dried lavender, that kind of thing), then we’ll cut out an external cover, and hand-stitch onto the front- creating a truly unique design. We’ll then machine sew the cover into the right shape and we’re ready to put the weighted pouch inside!
These are brilliant all year round- put them in the microwave for some warmth in the winter, or in the freezer for some cool in the summer. Perfect for relaxation, headaches, and for Shavasana (the relaxation part at the end of a yoga session!).
This session combines machine stitching and hand-sewing- you don’t need to have experience in either, all levels are welcome.
Participants will leave with a beautiful and truly unique eye pillow that can be treasured, or perhaps gifted to someone special.
All fabrics, ingredients and sewing tools will be provided for the session.

This Christmas, swap the store-bought decorations for something truly original: Create a 12-inch fabric wreath that’s uniquely yours, perfect for decking your halls or gifting to someone special.
In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll:
Choose your fabrics: From metallic lamé and festive prints, to true Scottish tartans and playful accent colours, there’s something for every style. Most of the fabrics available will be ‘deadstock’ (fabric otherwise destined for landfill) and offcuts, and if you really want to embrace sustainability, feel free to bring your own scrap fabric!
Add festive flair: Mini baubles, giant bows, colourful pompoms, and other fun embellishments let you customise your wreath to make it truly one-of-a-kind.
Craft with no-fuss: Designed for beginners and seasoned crafters alike—your wreath will come together beautifully, stress-free - and without a sewing machine or needle in sight.
Follow expert guidance: Follow a step-by-step tutorial, with support whenever you need it. We’ll help you every step of the way so you leave confident and proud of your creation. You’ll even leave with a take-home guide on how to make more wreaths at home.
Create your finished wreath: Most participants will complete their wreath during the workshop, but if you choose a more involved design, instructions are provided to finish at home.

We’ll be embossing foils to create designs and then cutting them out and adding a hanging loop. There’s the option to create your own designs, or use a pre-printed design.
Please note this is a family-friendly session, there is also an adults-only evening session happening on the 3rd December. Children must book on with a parent or guardian for the session; it's a great excuse to have some quality time making together and not have to do the tidying up!
Not suitable for children under the age of 8 due to the foil being sharp on the edge.
