Who we are.

Welcome to Studio Stitch Up — Buckinghamshire’s new creative hub for sewing, dressmaking & crafty good times!

Based in Chesham Old Town, just a few minutes walk from the underground station, our bright and friendly studio is a space to learn, create, and connect.

Come join a sewing or dressmaking class, book a 1:1, or get stuck into one of our fun craft workshops — we’re all about making creativity accessible, social, and just a little bit fabulous.

Studio Stitch Up is a place where everyone feels welcome, whether you’re threading a needle for the first time or drafting your own patterns.

We believe sewing should be joyful, not intimidating; we offer a relaxed, friendly space with expert guidance and a good dose of laughter. From timeless dressmaking skills to playful, modern crafts, our classes encourage exploring your creativity at your own pace.

Meet Ella.

Hi, I’m Ella — the maker, teacher, and creative chaos-lover behind the newly opened Studio Stitch Up.

I’ve been sewing since childhood, making clothes for myself and my family, and have completely fallen in love with the whole process from sketch to stitch. I’m all about natural fibres, clever pattern cutting, and that unbeatable feeling of wearing something you've made yourself.

At the studio, I run a mix of sewing classes and one-to-one lessons for kids, teenagers, and adults, and I love it when parents and their children learn together! Whether you’re just getting started, or diving into pattern drafting and solving fitting issues, I’m here to help you build your skills, grow your confidence, and actually enjoy the making process (no perfectionism needed!).

I love blending traditional sewing techniques with modern tools — I draft my own patterns digitally then project them straight onto fabric. It’s quicker, paper-free, and lets me play my favourite game: pattern tetris… squeezing every last bit out of the fabric to reduce waste and make sewing more sustainable.

More than anything, I love helping people realise what they’re capable of. There’s nothing better than seeing someone proudly wear something they made themselves!

🧵 Favourite fabric: Anything ‘deadstock’ (fabric otherwise destined for landfill), but natural fibres always - linen, viscose, and cotton

🎧 Sewing soundtrack: a true crime podcast, when I’m not teaching of course…

🛠️ Most-used phrase: “Don’t worry — we can fix that!”

❌ Weirdest sewing habit: I use the foot pedal backwards!

🎨 Currently obsessed with: Fabric with an animal print really has my heart
